Last week (Week of July 22-28), “TSA discovered 74 firearms this week in carry-on bags around the nation. Of the 74 firearms discovered, 65 were loaded and 29 had a round chambered.” They also discovered two “inert grenades” in “carry on bags at MLI and PHL”. That’s just last week!!
All I can say is: what the bloody hell?!!
In terms of utility to society, I had always rated the TSA as somewhere between a box of discarded toilet paper and Pokemon Go but looking at the things they discover in just one week, I am beyond chagrined.
In fact, if you look at their blog and twitter feed, they don’t seem so bad after all. And, it is quite interesting what they find in luggage each week.
PS I still recommend everyone to get Global Entry.
