Our flight home left from Milan so after two nights in Rome, we headed back to where we started. My aunt and uncle were leaving a day earlier than we were so we still had some time left (during which we went back to Lake Como), but we needed a convenient hotel near Milano Centrale. The Crowne Plaza – Milan City fit those requirements perfectly.

The Crowne Plaza – Milan City hotel is a modern, clean, and comfortable accommodation for quick overnights near Milano Centrale Station. The hotel is located right next to the “Sondrio” Metro Station and is only a 10 minute walk from Milano Central Railway Station.
Recognition for being IHG Platinum didn’t include free breakfast, but included free drinks at the Metropolitan Lounge Bar. Check in was quick and staff helped us get our luggage to our room. The room itself had free wifi, a comfortable bed, and a decently sized restroom with good water pressure. It’s really not anything special (like the Park Hyatt), but again it serves the purpose for a brief overnight. Oh yeah don’t worry about breakfast if you are staying at this hotel because there are tons of cafes and a McDonald’s nearby in case you don’t want to pay a premium for it at the hotel.
Overall, This property was a relief to stay in, especially after our not so great stay at the Radisson Blu – Rome. The location and price range for the room (~$150 or 30,000 points), really makes it a property worth returning to in my humble opinion. Just for the record, I paid with points for this particular stay because room rates over $200, which doesn’t seem to be the norm at this property.
