[TARGETED] 75,000 Mile United Credit Card Offer!

I was interested to note that the Mileage Plus Club Card is now offering a new sign on bonus of 75,000 United Miles after $3000 in spending. This arrived in the mail today for my dad:

The only issue with the offer is that the card doesn’t waive the annual fee for the first year, which is a hefty $450!

You can login to check if your account has the offer at MPClubCard.com/75k. I was able to confirm the offer over the phone, but was unable to see the offer after logging in. This offer appears to be new so I expect them to update the site at some point this week.

As you can see the card already offers the following benefits:

• United Club Membership
• Premier Access
• 1st and 2nd checked bags free of charge
• 1.5x United miles on all spending
• No close-in award booking fees

What do I think about those benefits?:

I personally don’t care for the United Club Membership because those clubs are useless, but the rest may be worth it if you aren’t a United Elite. The 75,000 mile sign on bonus is really nice, but I’m not sure I would like to pay that $450 annual fee given that I have no use for United Clubs. 

Where can I go with these miles?

75,000 miles can easily get you a one way ticket on United’s BusinessFirst/Polaris product to pretty much anywhere. And as I will discuss more about later, I do believe they have the best soft product among the legacy carriers.

Bottom Line: 

Anyway just another offer to look at if you use United Clubs, aren’t an United elite, are big spender, and have already taken up the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card. This is a tall list of qualifications, but hey I don’t know all my readers.

If you have targeted offers for the other United Card, I would most certainly go with that!
