Time Lapse of Lake Louise from the Fairmont

Hi everyone,

I’m back home after a week long excursion through the Canadian Rockies. I can’t wait to do the trip reports from my travels. But it will take me a small amount of time to get everything together because I took 5000+ photos on this trip! Who am I kidding it might take a month for me to organize and edit all the pictures.

I don’t want to keep you guys waiting for too long so I’ll offer few additional tidbits from the trip:

All the pictures and videos were taken from in front of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise where I was staying using one of my two free nights from the Fairmont credit card (Note: I don’t get a commission for this link).

Just as an FYI: the Fairmont card is exempt from the 5/24 rule at present time according to Doctor of Credit.

I took a few long exposure shots using my ND Filter in front of the lake at various times. Please feel free to comment and let me know your thoughts. I’m still astounded by the beauty of this area, and the fact that it is so close to home!

I apologize if it shook a little. That was my sister who accidentally moved the tripod while looking out the window. We were kind of in a fight for window space to take in the view 🙂 And yes it did start snowing in the middle of the time lapse.

Have any of you ever been to the Canadian Rockies? How would you rank it among the places you’ve visited?

We were there last month and while the water was not this green it was amazingly beautiful! Too bad we couldn’t goto Lake Moraine since it was yet to open (it was still frozen!).

Canadian rockies are so so beautiful.

Yeah the clouds seemed to add to the beauty on our visit. Pity you couldn’t see Moraine Lake, it actually snowed while I was there so I understand why the road would be closed. But did you go to the icefields parkway? I can’t believe such beauty is so close to home. I’m hoping to head back next summer!
