I thought I would take this opportunity to post some of my best pictures from Udaipur and the most beautiful lake I’ve been to in India. That is before I continue to rant about the Taj Lake Palace. Stay tuned for that, but in the mean time enjoy these snaps.
Udaipur is located in the the largest Indian state: Rajasthan, which is located in the northwestern corner of India. Udaipur has many nicknames including the “City of Lakes” and the “Venice of the East” owing to 5 large man-made lakes being situated in the city proper. The most prominent of these lakes is Lake Pichola, which features many of the city’s major palaces and attractions. I didn’t get a chance to see too much of the city, but I did enjoy some of the finest golden hours over Lake Pichola.
Here are some of my best shots from Udaipur and Lake Pichola:
India is one of the finest and safest destinations for photographers. I guarantee there is no better place to be to see and capture the drastic contrast in landscapes, culture, geography, and people.
If you like my work, I would appreciate a comment and a follow on Instagram (@pvtejasvi) or 500px (pvtejasvi).
Have you ever been to India? I would love to hear about your experiences.

I would argue that India is the most dangerous travel destination for female travelers, even more so if she travels alone.
While I agree that it isn’t as safe as Europe in every area. India is extremely safe in the touristy areas. It goes without saying that female travelers should avoid walking around at odd times almost anywhere. For its size and population, India doesn’t really have much in terms of petty crimes compared to places like Italy.
